Medusa (Greek Μέδουσα) is the name of two characters in Greek mythology. The first is one of the three, four, or seven Hesperides who guarded the Golden Apples. The second, better-known of which in the sequence is referred to here was a Gorgon, the daughter of the sea gods Phorkys and keto, and the sister of Stheno and Euryale. She was the only mortal of the three Gorgons. Originally Medusa was beautiful. As Pallas Athene however surprised at Paramour with Poseidon in one of their temples, they turned them angry in that form, than they had feared: a winged monster with snake hair, long canine teeth, a coat of mail, glowing eyes and tongue hanging out; so also saw their sisters of the Gorgons. The sight of Medusa had each to stone, can kill as protection against enemies that they have because of their mortality.
