Products description

Filigraner Troll Key, 25 x 48 mm, 925 old silver finish, with black depths

A troll, also Trold, Troell (North Germanic "fiend", "Giant", "natural beings"), was originally a generic term for all clumsy, sinister supernatural beings, often a harm-bringing giant in Norse mythology, similar to Thursen and Jöten. Particularly in Sweden and Denmark this idea mixed in the fairy tale with those of dwarves and other mountain spirits, partly with that of philanthropic fairies and elves. So was "Troll" a general term for any type of more or less anthropomorphic mythical creatures, similar to the Fairies of Anglo-Celtic tradition. An etymology takes the word of Germanic truzla with the verb trullon for "balls", "roll", "make" back. The Swedish Match is trilla, the Danish trille. This is related ( "wobble") ostfriesisch trüselen. Norwegian trulla and controls Middle High German means "with short steps, therefore, run". The Swedish verb trolla ( "magic") corresponds to Middle High German trüllen (about "flutter", "cheat").
